UI / UX
17 June, 2012
I designed a new user interface for a financial firm's online application that made it easier for clients to construct, evaluate and report on financial portfolios. This was a many month long process that involved the participation of the research, operations, marketing and technology departments.
The CrystalTools redesign broght a step-by-step flow that was easy to understand so advisors could exploit the firms powerful analytic and reporting tools. I was responsible for not only the design of the UX/UI but also the entirety of the graphics. All "wireframes" were delivered as if they were the complete site. This required a lot of flexability to incorpoorate design changes after input from the stakeholders while most importantly working closely with the developers to ensure the vision could be technically achieved. The example posted here are not screen shots of the site but illustrated wireframes.
In addition to the redesign, part of the requirement was that the entire site could be white labled to adopt the marketing language, logos and appearance of the client's brand. This also included a number of tasks such as redesigning reports generated by the system. After the launch of the redesigned site the firm's clients raved about the new web based product and a few larger firms expresed interest to by the product for their own internal systems.
